What was "Ikologiks theory"?
Defining Ikologiks
- Ikologiks theory is a comprehensive "out of the box" system of philosophical thought, and study, with a rudimentary adherence to the scientific method and empirical study; while simultaneously, embracing the abstract, esoteric and avant-garde means to an understanding of life.
- Ikologiks theory is introduced to students without the constraints of any imposing dogma, ritual or ideology. Which, is contrasted with the commonly rooted ideas we find operating in modern-day social theorists viewpoints, religions, or especially, in the classic western and eastern philosophical traditions. This does not mean the student will not encounter what might be considered dogma, ideology, or ritual in their initial stages of instruction or training (experiencing). Unfortunately, due to our inherent socialization, operating from birth, we cannot easily detach, or deprogram ourselves, from those latent vestiges of indoctrination, control, coercion and disinformation in our lives.
- Ikologiks theory is positioned as a conduit seeking to apply a set of core assumptions, narratives and elements as they are referenced picto-graphically and ideo-graphically in the "9PL" (see opposite column) attempting to generate a practical formulations for human potential, growth and reaching coherence via Transformation Technology (TT) or the Prosensus Building Forums.
- Ikologiks theory is also inclusive of what is called "Central Philosophy" as a means to move us beyond the current focus and limitations in dualism as upheld in the "east vs. west" or "us vs. them" approaches, or appendages, to life and knowledge. Central Philosophy (CP) seeks to inspire us to reclaim an almost forgotten view of life/living that is principally holistic, mutualistic, and boundaryless in expression and practice.
Defining Central Philosophy
Central Philosophy is not an attempt to glorify or revive ancient knowledge, culture and wisdom. Instead, CP seeks to draw from the well-spring of those previous epochs, while simultaneously, advancing them as pivot points for the arrival of "a paradigm shift in human global consciousness". |
Central Philosophy is the nexus between the traditional Eastern thought/Western thought paradigm that has shaped global consciousness over the past two millennia. However, underpinning that realm of philosophical thought (East/West) is a primordial system of thought (philosophy) that transcends it in many ways. The undercurrents of that primordial base system of thought is enshrined on the African continent with examples like Ubuntu, Ntuology, Mdr Ntr, or Anokwalai Enyo (Two Truths) as well as with the Indigenous, or Aboriginals peoples of the other various continents. Thus, the CP focus seeks to evidence, explore and expand upon the relevance of those templates that established our earliest human civilizations on this planet.
The IIGS seeks to establish CP as an all inclusive system of thought, knowledge, philosophy, and wisdom in the decades remaining in this 21st century. It is crucial in disposing of the western hegemony over global consciousness which is wrecking havoc with our human transformation potential. |
The 9PL
The Origin of the 9PL Seminars
(Ikologiks: Nine Principles of Life)
In the late 1970s, while at Cornell University, Roger Davis surfaced an innovative training program, and philosophical conceptualization about life processes that was conceived, constituted, conceptualized, and eventually, disseminated throughout the USA in the 1980s, 1990s, and overseas, in the 2000s.
The actual origin of the 9PL seminars emerges out of the specific compilation of nine distinct ideographs, pictographs, ideograms, mandalas that formed out of the personal meditative experiences of Roger M. Davis in 1977, while at Cornell University. Davis, has indicated that although the experience that produced the 9PL has some mystical aspects, to its creation. Nevertheless, the construction of the actual "plates (images)" that comprise the 9PL are steeped in logic, rationality, the scientific method, and a reasoned research methodology, with stringent empiricism, as a governing process in their elucidation.
The initial aim of the eclectic exoteric and esoteric design (plates) was focused initially on how to help students to explore the "Human Enigma," especially, as it pertains to black people in America. This aim and focus led to the establishment of various seminars, intensives, and "Ecologics/Ikologiks" training programs throughout the early 1980s, into the late 1990s, as well as, in the first decade of the new millennium (2000-2010) when the training was broadened to be inclusive of non-black bodied participants globally. The prime directive of the 9PL seminars, however, was to help participants gain some useful tools enabling them to resolve the inherent contradictions, which are stemming principally, from the varying ways, we identity life via culture, religion, politics and science in human society. The initial series of teachings that were embodying the 9PL were offered in a variety of U.S. cities, and eventually, around the world, as stated previously.
The above efforts actually culminated in 2010 with their suspension (no 9PL training has been conducted since 2005). Subsequently, a plan to re-engage the nine special multi-dimensional pictograms (9PL), diagrams, or ideograph charts by merging them into the work of the newly developed PROSENSUS BUILDING FORUM & TRANSFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CENTERS INTERNATIONAL projects of the IIGS.
The 9PL that was originally conceived, and initiated by Roger M. Davis (aka, A.M. Omar) in support of the present-day Prosensus Building Forum and TTCI projects is currently being mostly disseminated through published books, as follows: "Transformation Technology: Rediscovery the Matrix of Human Transformation Potential in the Age of Globalization," along with the first-time release of the actual 9 plates, with commentary, of the "9PL".
The nine charts/plates that comprise the 9PL were originally commissioned to serve as a tooling permission in supporting "a global paradigm shift in human consciousness" as a means to assist, all of humanity, in reaching their highest human transformation potential. The 9PL is best described as an "anti-malware/anti-virus" device tooling in managing the host of discordant and often destructive forces that are resultant in the nature of the dogmas, ideologies (man-made), or philosophies, we show allegiances to throughout the world. Moreover, it addresses the means to transcend those dogmas, ideologies that are tending to divide humanity into the "us vs. them, mentality" more so than seeking the uniting of the human family for a common purpose, or endeavor in support of our human transformation potential.
The Origins of
"Ecologics/Ikologiks" Theory
A theory, is principally, as it is defined according to the Oxford Dictionaries, is:
"a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained. i.e. --"Darwin's theory of evolution"
So, many of those who are studying what is represented on this website, as well as, our sister websites (www.ikologiks.org, and www.ikologiks.com) question whether "IKOLOGIKS" can be considered a "theory?" Others, not only question the validity of using such a sacred term (theory), in application, to something they view as distinct from the western scientific method, empiricism. In short, some western academic scholars will readily float the term "pseudoscience" when referring to what is revealed about the 'theory of Ikologiks,' or "Ikologiks theory." So lets talk a little about the theory and its origins, hopefully, to your satisfaction.
Clearly, though, "Ikologiks" itself is a "system of ideas, intended to explain" not only what is contained in the 9PL (Nine Principles of Life), but also, the relevance of 'black ecology,' or 'human ecology' to this theoretical construct we are calling "Ikologiks theory." So "Ikologiks theory" as a method to explain what was independently conceived in the 9PL stands firm in the rudiments of objectivity, empiricism, scientific method, and research methodologies, whether of a quantitative, or qualitative nature.
Ironically, Oxford's definition chooses to raise as an example of "theory" the so called Darwin's theory of evolution which is flawed in so many ways, and is a matter of great contention, and consternation, among those who offer the "Creationism" view, as a alternative theory (hypothesis). Darwin's ideas, however, advise us on such theoretical constructs, as the "survival of the fittest" which not only underpins the rationalizing for the excesses in the economic system of capitalism, but also, what largely, defines how we understand modern sociology, or psychology. Darwin's ideas urge us to embrace a "human ecology" as a mechanistic, reductionist view that studies human life processes, not unlike the animals we are comparable to, based on "determinism," or "natural selection," and "population differentiation, intrinsic isolating mechanisms, or speciation (geo)." Such, is why the introduction of "Ikologiks theory" has such great importance in our quest to help all of humanity, arrive at its highest human transformation potential, because we are not MERE ANIMALS!
The development of "Ikologiks theory" emerges with the initial exploration by Roger M. Davis in the 1980s of the implications of 'black ecology' beyond the sociological blueprint established in Nathan Hare's PhD own thesis on the same (black ecology). Roger Davis merged his initial views on 'black ecology' with his academic experiences attending the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University. What ultimately, however, skyrocketed his initial hypotheses, and perspectives, was the arrival of the 9PL ideographs, pictographs, themselves. So in an attempt to explain what can be sometimes be viewed as the "explainable" in what he gleamed, while in a transcendental meditative state, he encountered in 1977 at Cornell University. Davis, has spent most of his life elucidating, refining, researching, and sharing all that pertains to the 9PL and the vehicle for capturing that eclectic array of philosophy, knowledge, wisdom, and experiences, becomes the basis for Ikologiks theory.

Topic #1: Exploring the Historical Antecedents of Ecologics/Ikologiks Theory
The Origins, of the term 'BLACK ECOLOGY'
In 1970 at the time of the environmental movement's first Earth Day, a then prominent African-American scholar, activist, black nationalist, sociologist, and psychologist, named Nathan Hare, PhD, wrote a brilliant essay for a new publication -- The Black Scholar Journal entitled "Black Ecology." The eight page manifesto by Nathan Hale inspired a young 15 year old teenager named Roger M. Davis to begin his own work in the environmental movement with a focus on environmental justice. You can view the article written by Nathan Hare, PhD in the link below.
Roger M. Davis, began speaking out on 'Black Ecology' in the 1970s as part of his work with the organization he founded (1970) -- The Bronx Environmental Society, Inc.
The term 'Black Ecology' originally coined by Nathan Hare, PhD in his professional research Journal article, actually, became a blueprint for many of the concepts, perspectives, and programs that emerged under the Bronx Environmental Society, Inc. founded by Roger M. Davis in 1970.
The term 'Black Ecology' grew to become synonymous with Roger's own analysis of the white middle class nature of the early environmental movement and the activists that exist to this day, even among climate change activists.

"Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu", which literally means that a person is a person through other people.
We (all of humanity) are in this life journey together and our codependency no longer has room for division, discord, divisiveness, or disharmony. Our political, economic, or religious UNITY can not be achieved, or attained by our mental faculties rooted in ideology, dogma, beliefs, or attitudes and perspectives. Instead, we must grasp the significance of moving beyond and above those mundane expressions of our material reality. To accomplish this task will require millions of us on the grassroots level to seek our human transportation potential in this generation.
So in the spirit of that Swahili word "Harambee" (Pull together) and that African philosophical view of Ubuntu, or Ntulogy let us aspire transcendentally beyond what our ancestors accomplished or created on this planet.
--Adisa M. Omar--
So in the spirit of that Swahili word "Harambee" (Pull together) and that African philosophical view of Ubuntu, or Ntulogy let us aspire transcendentally beyond what our ancestors accomplished or created on this planet.
--Adisa M. Omar--
The ancients, fore the most part, viewed the creation of humanity, as being spun like clay, on a potter's wheel. The cosmology, cosmogony and various cosmo-conceptions surrounding our human origins and/or existence is quite vast and challenging to decipher.
To some the "wheel" is the cycle of birth and death (reincarnation); while, to others, it is the 360 degrees of all knowing emerging from a pinpoint (singularity, big bang). And, for still others, it contains the "ying and yang" principal as the spiral withing the circle. It to some, is the "Medicine Wheel" or the Four Spirits (directions). For others, it is the celestial spheres (earth, sun and moon).
So what exactly are we to believe, or conceive of in this convoluted age of materialism, or under modern globalization?
The choice is fully ours to make -- for "as we so believe, it is". Nevertheless, we are encouraged to seek the truth behind the apparent dualism, or in the multitudes of expression in nature.
We are compelled to seek out the meaning of our existence beyond faith and belief alone, should we aspire to rise above our mundane material lives. If not, then we can be equally validated in our willingness to serve others, worship and forego our desires. It is truly an enigma we are facing in this life, so it is up to us, to decide to rise, fall or remain neutral.
